Margaret Cho can reverse Roe v. Wade & threats to gay marriage as “disgusting”

• Gay pride has grown significantly in size and complexity.
• At the same time, we must be more powerful than ever.
• However, we still have a long way to go.

Margaret Cho and Roe v. Wade is dealing with an illogical Republican Party that appears to want to legislate trans people into oblivion. It’s all satanic. I despise even considering what their motivations are. Whatever the problem is, they blame it on the transgender community. They accuse the LGBT community of being to fault. They blame us for everything, which is absurd.

It’s crucial to remember that if the Supreme Court can reverse Roe v. Wade, they can overturn a lot of other things that LGBT people take for granted. We’re not even close to equality, but we’re being pushed back so hard by this right-wing lunacy who thinks we’re about to take over the world. This is almost never the case. That has never been the case, and it will never be the case.

I’m completely taken aback. I’m furious. It’s revolting. But they’ve gone about it in a deliberate manner, eroding our liberties and the Constitution. And it’s the small triumphs they’ve had over time that we’ve really let pass. It comes from the Democratic [Party] position of not even responding to things because we are so far above them that we will not fall to their level.

It’s beginning to appear that we’re returning to a patriarchal heteronormative kind of governance that can dictate who we are as individuals. So we must stick together and fight for justice in all of these channels because they all lead to the same thing: the destruction of our freedom.

It makes no difference whose group you support as long as you are taking action. The Abortion Access Front website is a fantastic resource. In states that are beginning to criminalise abortions, we are building safe locations for women who are having abortions.

It’s time to put a stop to it, go to their level, and truly sling that muck and fight. We can no longer be nice and allow these things to occur. We can’t pretend to live in a civilised society because we don’t. It’s past time to take a firm stance.
