- It’s about a family who can’t escape the notion that their father was murdered.
- Something or someone is hiding in the clouds that constantly loom over their farm.

The abrupt loss of Otis Jr.’s (Daniel Kaluuya) and Emerald Haywood’s (Keke Palmer) father, Otis Sr. (Keith Haywood), sends the brother and sister reeling, leaving them to figure out what to do with the family’s ranch full of rodeo horses in the new trailer.
Otis Jr. (also known as “OJ”) can’t escape the notion that their father was murdered — not by a person per se, but by something or someone hiding in the strange clouds that constantly appear to loom over their farm.
The Haywoods, as well as other locals like rodeo cowboy Ricky Park (Steven Yeun) and Tech Team associate Angel (Brandon Perea), are in the midst of some type of meeting with aliens who…play jokes on humans, according to the new trailer.

The UFO circling the night sky is unquestionably murdering people and maybe abducting cattle. When OJ and Emerald set out to capture extraterrestrials on video and convert their ranch into a hotspot for visitors seeking to see some genuine, live aliens, the trailer hints that the extraterrestrials are also prone to pettiness.
What stands out in the teaser is Nope’s light tone, which contrasts dramatically with the dread sense of doom that Universal has been promoting the film with thus far. The aliens may eventually make peace, but based on Peele’s previous work, it’s far more likely that Nope still has a few surprises in store for moviegoers when the film opens on July 22nd.
