Netflix has officially unveiled the teaser trailer for The Sandman, based on Neil Gaiman’s characters, and revealed the launch date. According to the initial teaser, the tale will be very similar to the original comics. Even better, The Sandman will be accessible on Netflix in August, so we won’t have to wait long to view it.

The Teaser Trailer, on the other hand, tells the story of Morpheus (Tom Sturridge), one of the seven immortal brothers in charge of reality. Dream is the King of the Nightmare Realms, and his job is to keep humanity dreaming, not just when they close their eyes, but also when they imagine a better future. Dream is also the ruler of nightmares, dispatched by Morpheus to punish mortals who enrage him.

The plot of The Sandman, Volume 1: Preludes & Nocturnes, a collection of comic book issues that recounts Dream’s captivity by a cult in the early 1900s and his final release a century later, will be followed in the first season of The Sandman. The Nightmare Kingdom fell apart in his absence, severely limiting humans’ ability to dream. Worse, after Dream was imprisoned, a slew of horrors escaped and landed on Earth. Corinthian (Boyd Holbrook), one of these horrors who becomes a serial killer after landing in our reality, will star in the first season of the show.

This show seems to be not only one of Netflix’s most popular fantasy shows but also one of the most ambitious comic book adaptations, based on the graphics and video that have already been published. While Tom Sturridge’s Morpheus will play a key role, The Sandman will include a vast cast that will bring Gaiman’s characters to life on screen.
