The creature worships previous traumas and remorse in the Upside Down. The creature makes its victims relive their pain in increasingly terrible ways before killing them. Really forcefully Vecna kills its victim by levitating them, destroying their bones, and exploding their eyeballs and skull. The Party names Vecna after a Dungeons & Dragons figure, like its predecessors (Demogorgon, Mind Flayer).
Vecna wasn’t born in the Upside Down; Eleven sent him there after he murdered the Hawkins National Lab. Vecna was Dr. Brenner’s first subject and Victor Creel’s kid. Number One had his powers restricted and worked as a lab helper. Eleven, not knowing Vecna was evil, restored his abilities, causing the carnage and his exile to the Upside Down.

Max (Sadie Sink) is Vecna’s main target, and the Hawkins group learns that the only way to save her is to perform her favourite song, “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” The 1985 song is presently No. 2 on Spotify’s top 50 U.S. list and No. 4 on its top 200 global chart.
Max’s fascination with “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” spurred a social media discourse about finding music through TV. Some gatekeepers scoffed at people discovering the music through Stranger Things, while others delighted.
Max running from Vecna in the Upside Down while listening to “Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God)” is the season’s outstanding scene, but it hasn’t been Vecna’s only viral moment. Vecna’s vulnerability prompted viewers to offer their “saviour song.”
“What’s your Vecna song?” is a trendy way to inquire someone’s favourite music.
