One witness who saw her rush in to help the man posted on Twitter: “I just want to express my admiration for Adele for interrupting the performance and creating a scene when she believed that someone needed security assistance.

“She accomplished it in front of an audience that was over 65,000 people. Really, it’s that simple. #AdeleBST.”

In a recent interview with BBC Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs, Adele talked about having to postpone her gigs in Las Vegas earlier this year.

Following the announcement, she claimed to have “certainly sensed everyone’s despair” and to have been “devastated.”
