Reese Witherspoon and Will Ferrell are both set to appear in the upcoming wedding comedy film, which has not yet been given a title. The film tells the story of two weddings that are scheduled to take place at the same location on the same weekend.
According to the media, Amazon has acquired the rights to the untitled film that will be written and directed by Nick Stoller. Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon will both be in the movie and make it under their own banners.
Lauren Neustadter will produce for Hello Sunshine, while Jessica Elbaum and Ferrell will produce for Gloria Sanchez. Ashley Strumwasser will serve as executive producer.
The romantic comedy movie titled “Bros,” which Stoller directed and co-wrote with Billy Eichner, is scheduled to be released on September 30.
As per media reports, he will also produce a wedding comedy movie for his company, Stoller Global Solutions, along with Conor Welch. The movie has not yet been given a title.
According to sources who spoke to the media, Amazon won the bidding war for the rights to the project in a highly competitive situation that included bids from both streamers and studios. This makes sense when considering the impressive comedy resumes of Witherspoon, Ferrell, and Stoller.
Following her breakout performances in the critically acclaimed dramas “Big Little Lies,” “Little Fires Everywhere,” and “The Morning Show,” Reese Witherspoon is gearing up to “return to her rom-com roots” in the upcoming romantic comedy “Your Place or Mine” for Netflix.
