The film’s opening is about Rs. 5 crore since the Hindi version wasn’t shown much in Telugu-speaking areas. The film’s Saturday earnings were about Rs. 4.15 cr. It’s hardly shocking that mass-market films dip on Saturday. The opening wasn’t high, so Saturday may have outperformed Friday.

The 2-day total, including paid previews, is Rs. 9.65 cr nett. The weekend earnings are moving around Rs. 12.5 cr, with Sunday’s dip likely owing to the India vs. Pakistan cricket match. The Hindi version’s word-of-mouth has been mediocre, giving it little to no weekday potential. The picture had a strong second week at the box office, although that usually only benefits critically-acclaimed films. Telugu day 1 statistics were excellent, but they dropped dramatically following day 1, putting the picture in a tough position. The film’s international rights are worth at Rs. 90 crore, and based on trends, it may struggle to recoup even 40%.

The film’s Hindi and Telugu openings imply that Vijay Deverakonda has a fan base, and this is the appropriate film to maintain his star power. Liger was his greatest movie office opener, and future projects should beat it.
