Fabien Frankel of “House of the Dragon,” talks about Ser Criston
We met a slew of brand-new characters as soon as the HBO series House of the Dragon premiered in August.
In true Westerosi fashion, viewers have grown attached to these people, loving some and abhorring others beyond belief.
Ser Criston Cole, a dashing Dornish man, is the only character in the series who has gone from being loved to being despised more quickly (Fabien Frankel).
Frankel, who plays the part, has talked about how his character came to be in that position.
Ser Criston initially debuted in the series as a capable fighter without a claim to nobility, but through skill and dedication, he advanced to join the Kingsguard.
He can become a fairly gloomy and angry person, though, when problems of the heart offend him. Frankel disclosed to The New York Times that there had been a six-month gap between his audition and the part being offered to him.
When Cole began having an affair with Princess Rhaenyra, later played by Emma D’Arcy and Milly Alcock, it was a turning point in his life.
Although the actor disagrees, Frankel’s character has been called naive for wanting to flee with the princess. “I never thought of him as being naive.
He continues, “I believed that Cole knew the military development before talking about the marriage proposal rejection. I thought that he was taken out of a world that he understood into a life he didn’t.” Evidently, he has darkness inside of him that a specific event releases, causing him to become who he is.
