Prince of Monaco, and his wife, Marie, have announced they are going to have a baby

Louis Ducruet, who is the grandson of Grace Kelly and Rainer III and the nephew of Prince Albert of Monaco, recently made the announcement that he and his wife, Marie Ducruet, are expecting their first child together. This will be the first member of the Monegasque royal family to become a grandfather or grandmother.

Louis and Marie, who got married in 2019, posted an adorable photo of their dog Pancake holding a shirt that read “soon to be big brother” on their Instagram account on Thursday to share the joyous news that they are expecting their first child.

They wrote in the post’s caption, which was accompanied with a dark heart, “An adventure is about to begin.”

Marie wore a black and white blouse with black trousers, and Louis wore a grey jumper over a white shirt and grey chinos. The couple themselves appeared as radiant as ever in the photograph.

The announcements made by Louis and Marie come just a few short months after the couple disclosed their intentions to start a family in April of this year. At that time, they told the French publication Point de Vue that Louis desired a child now that their relationship has reached the 10-year mark, whereas Marie desired to concentrate on her career.

The couple also disclosed that while Marie would be satisfied with having two children, Louis wants more, with Louis stating that “ideally, I’d like to have three to four children.” There is one brother in the family, and I have three sisters. It would be a dream come true if I could have a big family just like mine.

Louis and Marie first crossed paths in 2011 while attending the Skema Business School in France; the following year, Louis popped the question to Marie.
