For its upcoming fantasy series, Netflix is raising anticipation. This year’s Comic-Con Experience (CCXP) in Sao Paulo, Brazil, unveiled a variety of details regarding new motion pictures and television programmes, including the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 teaser and previously unreleased footage from Avatar: The Way of Water, among other interesting projects. A fresh trailer for the prequel series, The Witcher: Blood Origin, was also made available to fans of The Witcher. A new poster with Michelle Yeoh, Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, and other members of the core cast was unveiled alongside the trailer.
The cast is shown in the poster ready for battle, with Éile (Brown) at the forefront with Scan (Yeoh) and Fjall (O’Fuarain) to her left and right. The most recent trailer for the series shows the unique stories of the three characters, including Éile and Fjall’s blossoming romances despite being cut off from their respective tribes. However, Scan, the last surviving member of the nomadic tribe, is on a mission to find her clan’s missing weapon. To stop an unstoppable empire before it’s too late, the three and the other characters must cooperate.
The four-episode prequel, according to Netflix, occurs thousands of years before the events of the Henry Cavill-led series. The Conjunction of Spheres, an event that combined many realms of monsters, elves, and humans into one, gave rise to the universe that is now known to us through literature, video games, and a star-studded and cult-favorite Netflix series, is the subject of Blood Origin. And now, 1200 years before Geralt of Rivia’s time, we’re getting another tale from the franchise.
O’Fuarain, Brown, and Yeoh won’t be the only returning actors; Joey Batey will also be playing Jaskier. The Witcher: Blood Origin’s cast is completed by Mirren Mack, Minnie Driver, Lenny Henry, Francesca Mills, Huw Novelli, Zach Wyatt, and Lizzie Annis. Declan de Barra is the prequel series’ showrunner and executive producer, along with The Witcher director Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Tomasz Bagiski, Jarosaw Sawko, and Matt O’Toole. The prequel series is based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels.
