It’s possible that Kate Winslet is her daughter Mia Threapleton’s most ardent supporter!

This week, the Academy Award winner, who is 47 years old, appeared on a media outlet for an interview One’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg. During their conversation, she opened up about working on their new drama, I Am Ruth, with her daughter, who is 22 years old.

“Actually, I was just so blown away by her,” Winslet shared of her daughter, per The Daily Mail. “I mean, she didn’t need my help at all.” She continued: “Sometimes I could introduce her to a technical trick here and there.

Just little things I picked up along the way, like changing an eye line … Little things like that, that no one teaches you. And she appreciated that stuff.” But when it came to acting, Winslet admitted that her daughter would say, “I’m good,” and give it a go on her own. “And there were times when I would say, ‘Can I just one…’ ‘No, no, no, I’m good,’ ” she added.

Winslet plays the role of Ruth, a concerned mother who tries to help her daughter Freya through the pressures of social media and a mental health concern in the project. Ruth’s character is concerned about Freya’s mental health.

I Am Ruth is a segment of the Channel 4 drama anthology titled I Am, which was conceived of, developed, and co-written by both Winslet and Dominic Savage. I Am Ruth was produced for the channel.

Winslet commented on working with Threapleton by saying, “…We had the added bonus of knowing how to push each other’s buttons, which I can tell you we can do quite well and definitely lent on that resource considerably when we were filming.” This was in reference to their time spent working together on the set.

When Winslet was a guest on the show Lorraine on ITV earlier this week, she admitted that her daughter, whom she shares with her ex-husband Jim Threapleton, would even tell her to “shut up.”

According to what she said, “as far as performance went, she didn’t need me at all.” “There are even times when she would look at me and say, ‘Shut up Mum, let me do it!'”

The first trailer for the film was released in the middle of November, and it marked the first project that Winslet and Threapleton have worked on together ever since Threapleton started acting in the background without anyone noticing it.

Winslet has been quoted in the past as saying, “I think I knew [it] was coming, I always suspected,” in reference to Threapleton following in her footsteps. And then, after a few years had passed, she circled back around and declared, “I’d like to give it a try.”
