Netflix, as expected, set fire to the Thunder Stage at the Brazilian (CCXP) Comic-Con Experience on Saturday. The streaming giant has hosted panels since the event’s inception in 2014, when it was much, much smaller.

As a result, it’s no surprise that their panel was one of the most eagerly anticipated by fans. Cast members from The Witcher: Blood Origins, Squid Game, The Recruit, Heartstopper, The Sandman, Wednesday, and Money Heist: Korea joined the panellists to discuss their shows and tease future seasons.

With so much to discuss, the panel lasted over two hours and had the audience screaming at the top of their lungs every time one of their favourite actors took the stage.

Noah Centineo, Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Sophia Brown, Laurence O’Fuarain, Joey Batey, Park Hae-Soo, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Gwendoline Christie, Vivienne Acheampong, and Jenna Ortega joined Netflix this year.

The Recruit:

The panel began with Noah Centineo discussing his upcoming action-thriller series The Recruit, which will premiere in mid-December. Centineo expressed excitement about the series and his role: He plays Owen Hendricks, a CIA lawyer who is forced into military service against his will.

The actor stated that he enjoyed the idea of playing a guy who believes he can wing it but quickly realises he’s in way over his head.

Centineo shared a scene with panel attendees in which he co-stars with Laura Haddock. Haddock plays a prisoner who threatens to leak classified CIA information if she doesn’t get her way. This article contains information about the scene.

Glass Onion:

Before moving on, Netflix decided to show a behind-the-scenes look at Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which also premieres this December.

The streamer posted the video to their Brazilian account, which you can view below:

Heartstopper:

Kit Connor and Joe Locke, the series’ lead couple, revealed in the Heartstopper section that they flew to Brazil immediately after finishing Season 2 of the show.

The duo expressed their gratitude for being a part of a show that depicts queer love in all of its forms, celebrates diversity, and has an overwhelmingly positive message for young LGBTQIA+ children.

Even though Season 2 of Heartstopper has completed filming, it is still too early to reveal anything because Netflix has yet to release the first trailer or announce a release date.

However, fans can relax because the wildly popular teen show has already been renewed for Season 3.

Squid Game and Money Heist: Korea:

Park Hae-Soo, a South Korean actor, stars in two Netflix originals: the high-stakes survival series Squid Game and the brand-new thriller Money Heist: Korea, an adaptation of the Spanish-language series La Casa de Papel.

Park expressed gratitude for being a part of the streamer’s biggest hits and revealed that, despite what he does at one point in the season, he does not consider his character in Squid Game to be a villain. He stated that he tried to portray Cho Sang-woo as accurately as possible.

Park brought an exclusive scene from Part 2 of the series to Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area.

Netflix split the first season into two parts, as they have done with many shows in order to keep the buzz going. The video includes a police raid, which makes the series’ bank heist all the more difficult.

The Witcher: Blood Origin:

The Witcher: Blood Origin panel delivered exactly what fans wanted: a brand-new trailer for the spin-off prequel series introduced by lead actress Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once). The trailer emphasised the new characters that fans will soon meet, as well as the series’ lavish production values.

The panel was led by actors Sophia Brown and Laurence O’Fuarain, who discussed how excited they are about the series and unveiled a new poster for the upcoming season, which premieres on Christmas Day. The panel was then surprised by Joey Batey, who was recently revealed to be a part of the spin-off series.

The Sandman:

The Sandman was undoubtedly the section of the panel that had the audience screaming the loudest. Standing ovations greeted Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Gwendoline Christie, and Vivienne Acheampong, who took a moment to reflect on the series’ themes.

The trio praised how both the legendary comic book series and the TV show offer distinct and yet unique perspectives on life and death issues, and they revealed they’ve long been fans of author Neil Gaiman.

The author then appeared in a video to emphasise the exciting news that fan-favorite character Delirium will be featured in the upcoming Season 2, which he confirmed via Tumblr.

Then, Gaiman revealed a Season 1 deleted scene in which Death (Howell-Baptiste) tells Sandman (Tom Sturridge) about the time she tried to live as a human.

Wednesday:

Last but not least, Jenna Ortega took the stage on Wednesday to discuss the hit dark comedy series. Gwendoline Christie, who plays Nevermore headmistress Larissa Weems in the series, later joined her.

Christie and Ortega complimented each other’s work and expressed how much they enjoyed working together. Then, Ortega stunned the audience by agreeing to answer a question without blinking, a character trait she developed for Wednesday Addams with series director Tim Burton.

The duo showed the audience a blooper reel, which revealed that Nevermore isn’t as dark behind the scenes as it is throughout the series.

Christie stated that she had always wanted to work with Burton and that he encouraged their participation and input in each scene.
