“Scream VI” trailer bring Ghost face to Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega
The scream VI trailer has arrived, previewing the appearance of Ghostface as...
‘Scream‘ franchise showed number of characters killed, one remains a fan favorite. Fortunately, Perri Nemiroff went right to the source to dig up facts to support theories that have been going around since 1997.
We learned the real story behind Matthew Lillard’s Stu Macher when speaking with original Scream screenwriter Kevin Williamson.
Wes Craven’s Scream provided its audience with a 1996 slasher that encouraged healthy introspection. Every element of a decent horror film, from motive to suspects, was examined by the cast, who appeared to be aware that they were playing the whole range of slasher roles.
Horror fans, both on and off-screen, were pleasantly surprised by the major reveal when Sidney Prescott, played by Neve Campbell, was trapped by not one unanticipated killer, but two.
It comes out that their pal Stu and Sid’s boyfriend Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) were alternately hacking and dicing their way through Woodsboro High.
Sidney, however, allegedly used a television to crush Stu’s head and shot Loomis in the head in her final girl form. Ghostface, or at least that’s what we were made to believe, was toast by the time the credits rolled.
In the audience of Williamson’s sequel, Scream 2, which debuted in theatres a year later, fans soon started to recognize Ghostface.
At Sid’s college, Lillard can be seen socialising with partygoers in the background of a scene. This, along with the fact that Lillard himself alluded to Stu’s appearance in Scream 3, has kept speculation regarding the character’s whereabouts alive. When we questioned the author directly, Williamson formally dispelled the allegations, stating:
“No, he’s dead. I think that started because of the college scene, the frat party scene because he’s standing in the background. He just came to visit set that night.”
This may be disappointing news for many fans. In every movie, from SLC Punk! to Thirteen Ghosts, Lillard has such a distinctive presence. In James Gunn’s Scooby-Doo, Lillard is undoubtedly the best Shaggy alternative.
In Scream, he offered ominous comic relief while covered in his pals’ blood, arguing peer pressure and calling himself “much too sensitive.”
Those fan speculations to bring him back were probably gaining steam once more as Scream 5 and Scream VI, directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, gave the franchise fresh vitality.
Even yet, Scream VI is bringing back a few classic characters, and Melissa Barrera’s Sam Carpenter ensures that the narrative is still deeply steeped in Woodsboro legend.
Even though we must say our final goodbyes to Stu, the sixth movie welcomes back Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Dermot Mulroney, Samara Weaving, and Kirby Reed (Hayden Panettiere) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox) from Scream 4.
On March 10, 2023, Scream VI hits the streets of New York City.
