Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbas’ “Kuch Ankahi” first episode wins hearts
Kuch Ankahi's first episode gave viewers a chance to see their favorite...
There is a huge global audience for Pakistani dramas, whether they be daily soaps or serials. Blockbuster hits with unorthodox plots, such as Parizaad, Mere Humsafar, Hum Tum, and Pinjra, kept audiences glued to their televisions in 2022.
While 2022 was a successful year for Pakistani television, 2023 appears to be even more successful thanks to a strong lineup of projects with some novel themes and partnerships.
The year’s most promising serials are listed below:
Tumhare Husn Ke Naam
The Saba Qamar, Sidra Niazi, and Imran Abbas starrer THKN is currently in its final leg of production and has been making headlines ever since it was announced. The project will touch on issues like friendship, complex love, and jealousy.
Kuch Ankahi
The show, whose debut episode aired last week, bills itself as a social comedy with a message. It is jointly produced by Kashf Foundation and Six Sigma Plus, with Mohammed Ahmed writing the script and Nadeem Baig directing the film. Family values, women’s emancipation, and strong female characters are the themes of Kuch Ankahi. Its hit-leading duet is the cherry on top. Bilal Abbas Khan, Sajal Aly, Mohammed Ahmed, Irsa Ghazal, Mira Sethi, Adnan Samad, Babar Ali, Vaneeza Ahmed, and Qudsia Ali are among the actors who appear in the drama.
Main Manto Nahi Hoon
After London Nahi Jaunga, director Nadeem Baig, superstar Humayun Saeed, and author Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar will collaborate once more on this project. Maya Ali has been cast by Saeed as the romantic interest in the play. Contrary to the title, the story is not based on Manto’s life; rather, the writer will be symbolised in a modern story, and you won’t regret having high hopes.
Chaand Tara
Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan, famous spouses, will appear in the Ramadan 2023 television series Chaand Tara. The master of Ramadan serials, Saima Akram Chaudhry, will pen the series’ script under the direction of Danish Nawaz. Ayeza had previously dazzled her admirers with hilarious characters in Chupke Chupke and Chaudhry & Sons, yet this is Danish’s first Ramadan play.
22 Qadam
Wahaj Ali plays a cricket player in this eagerly anticipated film, which also stars Hareem Farooq and Kinza Razzak. Anjum Shahzad, who directed “Pehli Si Mohabbat,” directed “22 Qadam.”
Serial Killer
This drama, which also stars Saba Qamar, is undoubtedly distinctive and promising, as the title makes clear. Alongside Daniyal Raheal, Saba portrays a police officer. Umera Ahmed is the author of Serial Killer, which will air on the “Green channel” soon.
Jo Bachay Hain Sang Samait Lo
Since Farhat Ishtiaq revealed that JBHSSL will be the subject of a drama adaption for her upcoming book, fans and watchers have been speculating on a mega-blockbuster. The project has been in the news for a while, whether it’s because it’s Ahad Raza Mir and Mahira Khan’s first collaboration or because Mohammed Ehteshamuddin is reported to be directing it.
It appears that Pakistani television has a stellar slate of upcoming dramas that are expected to break records for popularity and viewership.
