The Recruit’s fate is no longer redacted. With Netflix announcing on January 26 that the spy show will officially return for a second season, Noah Centineo’s CIA lawyer turned special agent can now officially unwind.

The actor released a statement, which read, “I know I speak for our entire cast and executive team at eOne and Netflix when I say that we are thrilled to be returning to The Recruit for a second season.” What Alexi Hawley has in store for us all excites me greatly.

Even though Owen Hendricks, Noah’s character, will not be able to escape his predicament from the season one finale until 2024, the creators of The Recruit promise even more action in its sequel.

In a statement to Tudum, creator Alexi said, “I’m thrilled to dive back into the fun, funny, and action-packed world of The Recruit.” He echoed his star’s sentiments. I can’t wait to turn it all up to ’11’ in season two, and seeing how invested our audience became in the show’s adventurous take on the spy world and Noah’s performance as Owen has been incredibly rewarding.”

After Owen and Max (Laura Haddock), a former CIA asset and his reluctant partner, were kidnapped right in front of Hannah (Fivel Stewart), the thriller, which debuted on Netflix in December 2022, left the scene. Even though Owen’s situation is dire, his partner’s is even worse after being shot by their captive, who turns out to be Max’s daughter.

Colton Dunn, Aarti Mann, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Vondie Curtis-Hall, and Kristian Bruun also appear in the show. The actor who plays the lead in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is also an executive producer for the show.
