Trevor Noah, the host, intervened to facilitate the interaction. According to Us Weekly, Noah, 38, revealed during the programme as he travelled around the A-listers’ tables, “The guy that Adele has always wanted to meet but never has is Dwayne Johnson. I do not have Dwayne Johnson here tonight, but I do have someone named “The Rock,” he jokingly said.

Adele was shocked and delighted when Johnson personally approached her from behind her seat and gave her a big embrace and smile. Adele broke into a grin and stood up to embrace the Ballers alum. “Adele, meet The Rock, The Rock, meet Adele. First time ever,” Noah said as the crowd applauded.

Johnson, 50, could be seen settling into a chair close to the 34-year-old 15-time Grammy winner as the camera zoomed away.

The Rolling in the Deep singer was nominated for seven awards that night, including Album of the Year for 30, Record of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for Easy on Me. The singer’s song Easy on Me took home the prize for Best Pop Solo Performance.
