Batman films have fans from all over the world, spanning generations. Because there have been six actors who have worn the cape of The Dark Knight, each has received some criticism. Michael Keaton, on the other hand, played Bruce Wayne and his alter ego in two Tim Burton films.

Michael Keaton’s Casting As Batman Fans Angry Letters

When Keaton was announced as Batman, Warner Bros. received thousands of angry letters from fans. Fans slammed the decision, and the new casting sparked outrage among comic book fans.

Fans were outraged when it was revealed that Micheal Keaton would play both Burce Wayne and his alter ego Batman, according to Cheet Sheet. They allegedly flooded Warner Bros. offices with 50,000 angry fan letters. Some of his fans also threw away promotional materials for his film. The outrage lasted for days until they saw the actor in the role of Batman and how he evolved into a mythical hero.

Following the uproar and controversy, Tim Burton’s Batman and its 1992 sequel, Batman Returns, both starring Micheal Keaton, went on to become gold standards in the superhero genre. Even today, many comic book fans consider Keaton to be the best on-screen Batman / Bruce Wayne.

Fans will be able to see Michaell Keaton again in The Flash movie starring Ezra Miller, as his portrayal is still what they miss to this day. While Ben Affleck will play Batman in the film, the fandom can’t ask for anything more. Fans have been hooked on Micheal Keaton saying “I am Batman!” since the trailer for the highly anticipated film was released.
