Hugh Jackman clarifies that the royal family is not his opponent
Looking back, Hugh Jackman regrets working on so many movies since it limited his time with his family.
Hugh Jackman came to this conclusion after playing a busy father who is attempting to help his unhappy child in Florian Zeller’s most recent film, The Son.
Speaking with the media, Jackman said, “There was a period where things were hitting for me and I felt like: I’ve got to take this opportunity.”
The Wolverine actor added, “But I look back now and I go: ‘You could have just completely chilled out there and everything would have been fine.'”
Wherever he was filming, Jackman brought his wife, Deborra-Lee Furness, and kids along. He acknowledges that he ought to have restricted their movement a little bit, though.
“But I thought—Deb and I thought—at the time: I’m doing movies; the lesser of two evils is to have everyone together. I’m not 100 percent sure, but sometimes stability may have been more beneficial,” Hugh, 54, noted.
In addition, the actor said that watching The Son had helped him realize that he needed to be more honest with his kids about “what’s going on inside of me” and shouldn’t just project “confidence and safety.”
