There was a serious wardrobe error that the media completely missed. The late monarch actually attended the ceremony with a significant hole in her gloves, according to stylist Bernard Connolly, who was working for the Queen at the time, who spoke with The Mail on Sunday.’

Photos demonstrate that the Queen’s white glove’s middle finger had a gaping hole and that the stitching on her gloves was broken.

The Queen reportedly experienced a great deal of stress as a result and was forced to cover her fingers for the remainder of the day.

“How it wasn’t written about at the time, I will never know. The Queen went out and waved to the world with a hole in her glove – can you imagine?” said Bernard Connolly to the Mail.

Bernard continued by saying that the small hole created a great deal of chaos in the royal household and that the stylists were aware of the significance of the event.

“You don’t do that. You wouldn’t do it in a fashion show, or in a photo shoot, and you certainly wouldn’t do it to a monarch. It was not just any engagement, but the future King getting married,” said Bernard.
