Rihanna’s appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023 will go down in history. Priscilla Ono, the singer’s go-to makeup artist, teased what fans may anticipate from Rihanna’s game-day beauty.

Ono, who will dress the “Diamonds” singer for her much-awaited performance at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, on February 12, said simply, “It’s going to be an iconic look.”

“I want a cosmetic appearance that you can recall at any time and think, ‘That looks? I want that now,” she continued.

“All I want is for it to seem really iconic. Nothing microtrends, for example. Nothing that can be said to have been completed in the 2010s or 2020s. I really want it to be timeless.

Ono claimed that Rihanna’s secret preparations for her performance served as inspiration for her makeup style.

It’s amazing to watch everything come to life. I’ve been attending rehearsals and watching everything, so it kind of inspires me,” she jokingly said, revealing that she’s been spending “weeks” making mood boards and face charts with coloured patterns.

“I believe that when you put time and effort into something, it will turn out incredibly well. I feel a little like a proud mother right now. I’m very proud of Rihanna and can’t wait for her to take the stage and wow everyone!

According to Ono, a global makeup artist for Fenty Beauty, Rihanna has been her client for more than 19 years. Ono learned about the Super Bowl engagement at the same time as the rest of the globe.

“I found out when Rihanna uploaded that photo of herself holding a football. Amazingly, I had only been with her the day before, Ono recalled. So I thought, “Wow! She did an excellent job of maintaining secrecy.

Then, shortly after the release of the photo, I received an email from the team saying, “Hold these dates for Arizona. So for me, that was a really fantastic moment,” she said. “Until I was offered the Super Bowl, I don’t think I had fully appreciated how badly I wanted to do it.

Ono stated that although she is unquestionably “over moon ecstatic” about having the opportunity to perform alongside Rihanna on the “world’s largest stage,” the gig has undoubtedly taken a great deal of preliminary planning.

“I’ve been getting ready for the previous few weeks, and now I’m ready. I’m just making sure I have everything I need, all my necessities, as I pack my beauty kit,” she remarked.

“I’m going to attempt to be as prepared as I can while still having fun. I’m attempting to act as though it’s just another workday so that I won’t panic out when it’s over.

The Secret Deodorant spokesperson also revealed how she is bolstering her glam squad in preparation for game day.
