Serena Williams 41, speculated about Smith hitting Chris Rock on-stage at the 2022 Academy Awards. Despite the fact that Smith’s decision overshadowed the success of the sports drama based on the life of Williams’ father Richard Williams, Williams does not appear to harbour any animosity toward him.

Williams remarked on CBS Mornings, “I felt that was such an amazing film and I feel like there was an incredible film after that with Questlove that kind of was overshadowed.” I am the type of guy who basically says, “I have been there, but I also feel like I have been in a situation where I have been under a lot of pressure and made a significant amount of mistakes. I erred; I am sorry. The world will not end as a result. “Since we are all flawed and human, let us just be friendly to one another. Therefore, that is frequently overlooked, she said.

This comes some days after her father dished on the infamous slap with only good words for Smith even though the Oscars slippage undermined his biopic’s success. The former American tennis coach thinks the Emancipation actor should be allowed to keep his Academy Award for the hard work he’s done in the film.

“People are going to think what they want to think, so I believe that Will should do whatever he wants to do, Richard said to The Sun. “It is nice if he apologized, but it depends on how he wants to handle the circumstance. I would not condemn anybody, he continued.
