The actor Swastika Mukherjee frequently talks about raising her daughter Anwesha alone. Anwesha is currently a student in Cardiff, UK. The actor was questioned in a recent interview if she was upset with her parents for forcing her into an early marriage. Swastika was asked if she regretted getting married in an arranged marriage. Promit Sen and Swastika were married in 1998; the union only lasted a few years.

Swastika Mukherjee, who has roles in Bengali and Hindi movies and television shows, most recently played Urmila Manjushree, a mother, in the Netflix movie Qala. In contrast, the actress, who in the movie had a strained relationship with Triptii Dimri, who played her daughter in the movie, is “eternally thankful” for her daughter Anwesha. Without Anwesha, according to Swastika, she would “have been a wreck.”

In a recent interview with RJ Stutee, Swastika talked about her daughter and arranged marriage. The performer said, “No, it was an arranged marriage,” in response to the question of why she “was married extremely early” and if that was her choice.

Swastika responded when asked if she regretted the planned marriage or if it had made her furious with her parents: “When I consider that I could have lived my life without it (the marriage), I realize that Anwesha (her daughter) would not be here, so I don’t have any regrets at all. And that idea just vanishes from my mind as quickly as Flash (American comic strip superhero from DC Comics). Therefore, I will always be grateful to the cosmos for bringing Anwesha into my life. Without her, I would have been in a complete state of breakdown since this job has its own, very serious struggles.”
