Braunwyn Windham-Burke clarifies if she’s engaged

After her estranged husband Sean Burke allegedly “emptied” their joint bank accounts, Braunwyn Windham-Burke reached her breaking point the previous year.
I did file for divorce because of it. “So Sean had emptied out our joint bank accounts unbeknownst to me,” she further alleges, adding, “Literally, one day I woke up and I had no access to any of my cards or any money.” “When you’re still legally married, there’s not a lot to protect you,” she claims in an exclusive sit-down with Page Six from the shared home in Newport Beach, Calif. Consequently, I sought divorce.
Sean, on the other hand, responds by stating that “any funds that were moved were used to pay family bills.”
After a prolonged separation from Sean, 45-year-old Braunwyn finally filed for divorce in October 2022. She came out as a lesbian in December 2020.
She and the businessman have three children together: Bella, 22, Rowan, 20, Jacob, 17, twins Caden and Curren, 9, Koa, 8, and Hazel, 5.
In a separate joint interview, Braunwyn and Sean recently stated that they hope to finalize their divorce “soon.” However, a custody and spousal support agreement is necessary for a legal divorce.
The former “Real Housewives of Orange County” star admitted in a one-on-one conversation with us that it has been challenging to take care of seven children while attempting to achieve financial independence.
She tells us, “I had a pretty cushy thing going, and now it’s not.” My life is a struggle.”
Braunwyn claimed in a court filing from December 2022 that Sean had “stopped providing” their family with financial support.
She claimed at the time that Sean’s contributions left her “unable to provide” for their children, and that she had to rely on her parents to help her pay for “basic living expenses.”
Braunwyn claims that not much has changed over the past few months.
She asserts, “As of right now, if he doesn’t send me money — because legally he’s not required to — then I can’t buy food or groceries, and my parents have been supporting me.” She is not a legal resident of the United States.
He doesn’t send much. He doesn’t send enough to pay for my five kids’ food because I still have to look after them.
According to Braunwyn, “He’ll be like, “If they need food, I’ll go get it.”” Or, “If you need this, you can leave and I’ll take care of it.” He had complete command of everything for 28 years. That was entirely his doing, and I allowed that.
After she decided to end their 23-year marriage, the “RHOC” alum speculates that Sean withholds funds in order to maintain authority in their relationship.
“I think he’s scared that he’s going to lose me once I’m in control of my own finances. The blonde beauty responds, “Not as his romantic partner, that he has finished with — but as that person.”
“It’s practically similar to he’d prefer have me around asking [for money] — or at times, I’ve been asking for cash — than to not have me by any stretch of the imagination.”
Braunwyn tells us that Jennifer Spinner, her girlfriend, has helped her deal with financial difficulties.
“Such a large amount my life was about material things. Immense gatherings, costly excursions, shopping. I’ve lost everything. I gave up all of that when I broke off my 20-plus-year marriage. She continues, “And I never would have thought that I would be so happy with so little.”
“I see Jen, I see this future, and I see the person next to me. It’s all worth it, and it’s not the life I thought I’d have. It’s so beautiful despite being so different.
The couple, who wed on Valentine’s Day in a “fake” wedding in Las Vegas, are just days away from moving to Franklin, Tenn., with the youngest members of Braunwyn’s family.
A form of “nesting” that the family has adapted to since the separation is for Sean to stay at the new house when Spinner, 38, and Braunwyn are away.
Braunwyn exclaims enthusiastically, “It’s nice to know that at 45, you can completely pivot, start over, and create the life you never knew you always wanted.”
“Like many other women in my position, I have shifted gears. because I am aware that I am not alone in this. You find new ways to solve problems. I’ve done that as well. Before, I didn’t have to work, but now I do. And that’s fine.”
Braunwyn has been working for her stepfather’s business and participating in paid social media campaigns for money.
Since we were teenagers, Sean and I have been together. I didn’t finish college. I never had a job. She notes, “I stayed at home, raised seven kids, and was a full-time mom.”
“Okay, yes, a lot of people are saying, “Get a job, get a job.” Additionally, I have a real job thanks to my stepdad. I have resumed my employment. However, Sean shouldn’t be forced to help take care of the kids just because I’m working.
Despite her hope that the court will eventually grant her financial protections following her split from Sean, Braunwyn maintains that she enjoys making her own money.
According to her, “I am very much looking forward to when the courts say, “OK, yes, you guys are separated but you [Sean] still have to do X, Y, and Z for your kids.”
Braunwyn intends to maintain her upbeat outlook regardless of the outcome.
Growing up, my nickname was Pollyanna. She tells us, “I think that might be difficult for [Sean] because I can always find the positive side in something.”
“Maybe not even consciously, but I believe he has a part of him that thinks, “You shouldn’t be able to get away with what you just did.” You just left our family and marriage. You ought to be somewhat dissatisfied. Like, you need to feel some pain.
However, she asserts that Braunwyn’s resilience is incomparable to anything.
She asserts, “It doesn’t matter what’s happening.” I’m just one of those people who makes me smile.
