In the Hartswood Films-produced drama, the British actor will play Sam Boyd, a detective sergeant who once worked with DI Lucy Chambers (played by Jessica Raine).
Steven Moffat, the showrunner of “Sherlock,” is an executive producer of “The Devil’s Hour,” which was written by Tom Moran. On Prime Video, the six-part thriller made its debut in October.
The story centers on Lucy, a social worker with insomnia who becomes mysteriously linked to a string of terrible killings in her neighborhood and becomes involved in the hunt for a serial murderer. Peter Capaldi also appears in the program as the intriguing criminal Gideon Shepherd, who has a peculiar relationship with time.
Production for Season 2 is well underway.
Hocking is well-known for playing Lauryn in the Netflix remake of “Top Boy.” She was just nominated for best supporting actress at the Royal Television Society Awards for her domestic abuse-related Season 2 storyline. She also serves as an ambassador for Refuge, the largest domestic abuse-specific organization in the United Kingdom.
