Lauren Sanchez’s debut film in turmoil as directors and crew walk out

Lauren Sanchez, the fiancée of Jeff Bezos, reportedly made her cinematic debut with The Golden Door, her first independent feature.

But accusations have been leveled against Sanchez, 53, that he oversaw a bizarre production that resulted in the director and several staff members being sacked. The psychological thriller starring Daniella Kertesz, Megalyn Echikunwoke, and Bezos’ adolescent daughter was reportedly self-financed by Sanchez.

Adventure & Fellowship, Sanchez’s company, produced the $2 million project, which was filmed.

However, insiders with knowledge of the movie told Puck News on Monday that Sanchez was a “infrequent — and to some — unwelcome presence on set,” adding, “But she and Bezos did show up, her more than him, and his teen daughter was an intern on the project and was even given a small role in the film.”

Sanchez was described as “certainly a piece of work in the over-the-top Beverly Hills striver sense of the phrase” in the Puck story. Despite the oppressive heat and inadequate craft services, a source informed the news organization that Sanchez requested to land her aircraft on the set and had a “relatively lavish” trailer.

The actors and crew were concerned about fundamental safety procedures, which caused the pandemonium behind-the-scenes to worsen. According to insiders, once Bezos visited, Sanchez was persuaded that the film needed a new perspective, which alarmed the cast because many scenes had already been shot. Key “crewmembers to throw up their hands and bail,” the insider continued, after she called the authors back and revisions were drafted.
