Fashion designer and activist Maria B recently hit back at fellow designer Fahad Hussayn, who had criticized her for her social commentary on issues she wasn’t considered an expert in. Hussayn’s critique centered around his belief that Maria B was using controversial topics to gain attention due to a lackluster career.
In her Instagram response, Maria B expressed her disbelief at Hussayn’s comments, saying, “I’m not surprised by anything this boy said, except that he thinks I have a mediocre career and am doing this for attention. People like you will never understand what Imaan is or what it feels like to stand against Haraam.” She also addressed Hussayn directly, telling him, “Mr. Fahad, read the comments from the people of Pakistan below.”

Hussayn had earlier criticized Maria B’s views on Barzakh, questioning her credibility and intentions. He argued, “No one wants to correct her? Why? Are we responsible for her mediocre career, where she has to resort to creating hate content to run her business? Why are we not addressing minority hatred instead of focusing on what someone filmed? Watching it is a choice. What happened to everyone’s priorities? Who gave her the authority to address the masses on matters beyond her understanding?”
In a video posted on Instagram, Maria B had previously argued that Barzakh promotes vulgarity and supports an LGBTQ agenda.
