In a recent podcast, beloved Pakistani actress Resham opened up about the challenges she faced in her film career, accusing director Syed Noor of playing a significant role in its decline.
Resham, who first made her mark on television and later became a star in films like ‘Jeeva’ and ‘Sangam,’ has slowly stepped away from the limelight in recent years, choosing instead to focus on her charity work. During the conversation, she reflected on her journey and the evolving landscape of Pakistani cinema. She recalled, “I recently heard Syed Noor saying I was an unfortunate actress because I ruined myself by choosing to work in low-budget productions.”
She defended her career choices, noting that every actor experiences both highs and lows. “Show me an actor who has only done great work. We all have our ups and downs, but for some reason, everyone believes it was only Resham who made bad films,” she said with a hint of frustration.
Resham also shared her feelings of betrayal by Noor, particularly after he developed a relationship with actress Saima, who then became his preferred choice for leading roles. “Syed Noor was the one director who really understood my acting, but he stopped offering me roles because of his affection for Saima Ji,” she explained.
In a heartfelt moment, Resham stated, “By God, Syed Noor destroyed my career. He insulted me on set, questioning who would ever cast me in their films.”
