In a recent interview that’s been making the rounds, Pakistani actress Saboor Aly opened up about her surprising journey from viewing her now-husband, Ali Ansari, as a brother to marrying him. She shared that before they tied the knot, she had always seen Ali through a sibling lens, largely because his sister, Mariam Ansari, is one of her closest friends—a common dynamic in Pakistani culture.
Saboor recalled how, back in the day, she was actively involved in finding potential matches for Ali. She even suggested a few names to Mariam and recommended some girls for Ali to consider. During these conversations, Mariam would tease Saboor, asking, “Why don’t you marry Ali yourself?” Saboor would respond, “I consider Ali as a brother; how could I marry him?”
What’s truly heartwarming is how their deep friendship, built on shared interests and mutual respect, eventually blossomed into a marriage. It’s a beautiful reminder of how sometimes, the closest bonds can evolve into something even more special.
