Renowned Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas, celebrated for his extensive career spanning over four decades in television, film, and theater, recently shared insights into his challenging journey in the film industry. Though Waseem has become a legendary figure in Pakistani drama, many are unaware that his path to success was not straightforward in films.
Hailing from a prominent showbiz family, Waseem’s father was a well-known film star and producer, who produced many films in his time. Despite his family’s significant presence in the industry, Waseem struggled to find success on the silver screen. During a candid conversation on Ramiz Raja’s show, Waseem revealed that he had starred in 18 films, all of which failed to make an impact at the box office.
Waseem disclosed that the situation became so dire that even his own family, who owned a production house, stopped casting him due to the continuous flops. Despite these setbacks, Waseem Abbas eventually found his niche in the television industry, where he has enjoyed a celebrated career, becoming a household name in Pakistani dramas.
Today, Waseem Abbas is recognized as a drama legend, having successfully carried forward his family’s artistic legacy while his son, Ali Abbas, continues to shine in the entertainment world.
