The cast of Avengers is showing their support for Kamala Harris campaign just days before the 2024 U.S. Presidential Elections.
In a fun video released by Vanity Fair on October 31, actors Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo, Don Cheadle, Danai Gurira, and Paul Bettany revisited their famous Marvel characters to encourage voters to back Harris.
The 90-second video begins with Johansson video calling her co-stars, where they brainstorm ideas for a catchphrase for Harris. They land on the questionable phrase “Down with Democracy,” which they turn into Marvel-style graphics for the Harris/Walz campaign. The video concludes with a reminder for viewers to vote on November 5.
Mark Ruffalo, known for playing the Hulk, shared the video on X, urging people not to ignore this election. He said, “Don’t sit this one out. It’s the one where we will lose big: Project 2025, women’s reproductive rights, climate change, LGBTQIA+ rights… This shit is real, and it’s going to come for you.”
Johansson discussed the making of the video, noting that it turned into a playful competition among the actors. “It was wonderful to feel everybody assembled around it, and hopefully it will engage our fans in the process of voting,” she added. The Avengers cast joins many other celebrities supporting the Harris/Walz campaign.
