Ranbir Kapoor’s action drama “Animal” dominated the box office in 2023. He portrayed Ranvijay, a violent and aggressive man, a role quite different from his previous ones. The actor recently shared his initial reaction to hearing the narration of his character in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial. Ranbir revealed that he initially felt he wasn’t that person but was excited to take on the film.
During a recent interaction with “Zee Business” at the Red Sea International Film Festival 2024, Ranbir Kapoor was asked what he looks for in a filmmaker when choosing scripts. In response, the actor explained that it begins with the director having a “unique story,” after which he follows his instincts.
He gave the example of his recent film “Animal”, saying, “You hear a part, and it’s so far out from what you are, like “Animal”, for example.” Recalling his initial reaction, Ranbir shared, “When I heard the part, I was like, ‘Okay, I’m not this person, but I would love to be a part of this world.’”
He explained that the role challenged him as an actor. Ranbir also mentioned that he might never have been able to take on such a role without his filmmaker, Sandeep Reddy Vanga. He concluded, saying, “As an actor, it’s very important to keep reinventing yourself, keep changing, and surprising yourself.”
Apart from Ranbir Kapoor, “Animal” also starred Rashmika Mandanna, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol, Triptii Dimri, Shakti Kapoor, Prem Chopra, Saurabh Sachdeva, and others.
Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor has an exciting lineup of projects ahead. He is set to portray Lord Ram in Nitesh Tiwari’s epic “Ramayana”. The actor is also shooting for “Love & War” alongside his wife, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. This magnum opus marks his reunion with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali after many years.
Earlier, a source exclusively reported that Ranbir has been cast in “Dhoom 4”, the reboot of the popular franchise. In addition, he has “Animal Park”, the sequel to “Animal”, and the next installments in Ayan Mukerji’s “Astraverse” lined up.
