Singer Beyoncé takes big step amid Los Angeles wildfire
Beyoncé has postponed her highly anticipated January 14th announcement in solidarity with victims of the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires.
On Tuesday, the Single Ladies singer took to Instagram to share the news with her fans. “The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” wrote the 43-year-old.
Beyoncé expressed her heartfelt concern for those affected, stating, “I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss.” She also praised the efforts of first responders, saying, “I appreciate the brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”
In her post, Beyoncé highlighted her foundation’s efforts to aid wildfire victims. She revealed that the BeyGOOD LA Fire Relief Fund donated $2.5 million to support families who lost their homes and community organizations involved in relief efforts.
While many fans praised her actions, reactions to the delay were mixed. “It’s okay queen, we appreciate your efforts,” wrote one supporter. Another added, “We love you and your heart.” However, some fans voiced frustration, with one commenting, “What the fires got to do with the announcement?”
The Hollywood Reporter noted that Beyoncé and her husband Jay-Z are currently sheltering in Las Vegas with their three children.
