Deepika Padukone offers mental health advice to students on exam stress
The Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone reflected on her school days and shared insights on managing academic stress.
During her appearance at Pariksha Pe Charcha, an annual academic event, she engaged with students in a Q&A session and emphasized the importance of staying mentally grounded during exam pressure.
“Focus on the things that you can control. For example, if you’re prepared or not,” Deepika advised. She encouraged students to communicate their stress with parents or teachers, adding, “Identifying the cause of stress and expressing it with someone you trust can be a good way to deal with that stress.” She also recommended meditation and exercise as useful coping mechanisms.
Sharing her approach to success, Deepika outlined her personal mantra: “Firstly, I need to have clarity on what I want in life. Secondly, I must have the conviction that I am capable of doing this… Will I fail along the way? A hundred per cent, I will. And most importantly, have fun.”
Deepika also spoke about her battle with depression, recalling how she struggled in silence until her mother encouraged her to seek help. “As soon as I started talking about my illness, I started feeling so free, so light,” she said.
