Music composer and singer Amaal Mallik asked the media to refrain from harassing his family after he opened up about his separation from his family and mental struggles.
Taking to Instagram Stories, he requested the media not to harass his family or misrepresent his emotions. “Thank you for the love and support… but I would request the media portals to not harass my family… Please don’t sensationalise & give negative headlines to my vulnerability. It’s a request,” he wrote.
Addressing his relationship with brother Armaan Malik, Amaal reassured fans. “Nothing changes between us brothers, Armaan and I are one and nothing can come between us. Love & Peace,” he shared.
Earlier, in a now-deleted post, Amaal revealed he is clinically depressed and blamed his parents, composer Daboo Malik and singer Jyoti Malik, for creating a rift between him and Armaan. “My self-worth has been diminished countless times by actions of near and dear ones that stole pieces of my soul,” he wrote.
Amaal announced he is stepping away from personal ties and will keep family interactions strictly professional. Known for composing music for Jai Ho and MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, he has frequently collaborated with Armaan on hit songs.
