As tensions between India and Pakistan intensify following recent military escalations, Indian media have come under fire not from across the border, but from within its entertainment industry. Bollywood actress Sonakshi Sinha and TV star Tejasswi Prakash have publicly criticized Indian news channels for promoting panic, misinformation, and sensationalism during a sensitive time.

After a series of false flag operations allegedly carried out by India in Pahalgam, Pakistan responded with retaliatory strikes, destroying several Indian army check posts and shooting down aircraft and drones. In the wake of these events, Indian news outlets launched a frenzy of war coverage. Many channels falsely claimed dramatic victories—some even reported the destruction of Karachi Port, the capture of Lahore, and the devastation of Islamabad, all without any credible verification.

Sonakshi Sinha took the stand against all false claims by the Indian media and shared the notice, expressing her outrage.

“Our news channels are a joke!” she posted. “I’m so done with these over-dramatized visuals and sound effects, the screaming and shouting! What are you doing? Just do your job, report facts as they are. Stop sensationalizing WAR and creating panic in people who are already anxious. Find a reliable news source and stop watching this garbage in the name of news.”

Tejasswi Prakash also didn’t hold back. In a bold statement, she wrote, “When the world stops buying your narrative, it’s not just a diplomatic defeat… It’s a crisis of credibility.”

At a time when most celebrities choose silence or neutrality, Sonakshi and Tejasswi’s strong words resonate with the public, who is increasingly skeptical of prime-time propaganda. Their voices have added a new layer to the ongoing debate about responsible journalism, national accountability, and the role of media in times of conflict.
