When a fan in Jeddah replicated a well-known moment from his Hera Pheri sequel, Akshay Kumar was impressed. The actor is in Saudi Arabia for the Red Sea Film Festival’s second iteration. He posted a video on social media on Sunday demonstrating how delighted fans connected with him in Jeddah.

A man acting as Akshay from Phir Hera Pheri in traditional white clothing opened the video. He pulled his sunglasses out of his pocket as he suddenly realised that he could wear them in addition for the complete impact. While the actor and his companion chuckled, he took a picture in front of Akshay’s car. The fan then deviated from his persona and confessed his love for Akshay. As a photographer took pictures of them together, a few other people also took photos with Akshay.

Sharing the video, Akshay wrote in a tweet, “Haha…for the most lovable of reasons, my fans’ Hera Pheri simply rocks my life. Thank you, Red Sea International Film Festival and everyone in Jeddah for a memorable time. Love and prayers to you all.”
Recently, Akshay confirmed at the Leadership 2022 Summit that he will not be part of Hera Pheri 3. “Hera Pheri has been a part of me. Like a lot of people, I have good memories. Mujhe bhi dukh hota hai (I feel bad as well) that in so many years, part 3 hasn’t been made. But like I said we have to dismantle things. The film was offered to me but I was not satisfied with the script. I have to do what people want to see. That is why, I backed out. I took a step behind. It is a part of my life and journey for me. I am also very sad that I can’t do it. But I am not happy with how the creative things have shaped out,” he said.

The most recent Bollywood cinema icon to attend the festival was Akshay. Akshay posted a photo of himself in front of a jet on Instagram on Saturday. “And here I am, Jeddah, for the Red Sea International Film Festival. Look forward to some interesting movie talk! #RedSeaIFF22,” he wrote.

Prior to that, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, and Sonam Kapoor attended the second day of the festival, while Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra attended the opening ceremony on Thursday. Actors Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan are also anticipated to attend the festival soon. Ranbir and Shah Rukh are both honoured at the festival.

When last seen, Akshay was in the poorly received film Ram Setu. In Ayushmann Khurrana’s film An Action Hero, he also makes a brief appearance.
