Kartik Aaryan said yes while answering a query about whether he would want to work on a movie “as rooted as” Kantara. In a recent interview, Kartik identified as “desi” and expressed his desire to work on such movies. Kartik also mentioned how much he enjoys seeing films like Kantara. Kantara, directed by Rishab Shetty, received a resounding cheer from the crowd for its plot and stunning visuals. The story is set in coastal Karnataka and combines ideas of man vs. nature, land politics, and indigenous beliefs in Daivas. Kantara centers on the Kambala champion Shiva (Rishab), who engages in combat with a moral Forest officer.

In an interview, Kartik said, “I would love to do rooted films, grounded films. Main khud bohut desi hoon yaar. Mera khoon pura desi hai. Mujhe aesi filmein dekhne bhi mazaa aata hai aur karne ka bbhi shauq hai (I am completely native. My blood is completely native I love watching such films and would love to do such films as well). Kuch headlines dekhta hoon (I come across some headlines), ke ‘the era of Kartik Aaryan has begun’, I get happy with my success and I hope good film chalti rahe (keep on happening) and I keep on getting good films.”

On September 30, Kantara had its theatrical release in Kannada. The dubbed versions were released two weeks later as a result of positive box office reception, even outside of Karnataka. The movie recently had its digital premiere on Prime Video in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Rishab, Pramod Shetty, Achyuth Kumar, Sapthami Gowda, and Kishore are among the cast members of Kantara, a Hombale Films production.

Aaryan and Alaya F were most recently spotted in Freddy. On December 2, a Freddy movie by Ekta Kapoor was made available on Disney+ Hotstar. The romantic thriller directed by Shashanka Ghosh features Kartik in a previously unseen role.

The actress is working on a number of projects, including Shehzada, a family comedy starring Kriti Sanon. Alongside Kiara Advani, Kartik will star in the musical romance drama Satyaprem Ki Katha. The movie is scheduled to premiere on June 29, 2023. Aashiqui 3, Captain India, directed by Hansal Mehta, and the next untitled film by filmmaker Kabir Khan are further projects that Kartik is working on.
