Ekta Kapoor praises Akshay Kumar calls him dependable actor

Producer Ekta Kapoor has defended actor Akshay Kumar and criticised the tabloid culture as “insensitive.” On Saturday, Ekta lauded Akshay and referred to him as the “most reliable, dependable actor” on her Instagram Stories.

Ekta Kapoor commented without mentioning any names, “Akshay Kumar is the most reliable, dependable actor to work with!!! Depressing tabloid culture of bringing someone down to highlight his lows is a hugeeeeee low in itself!!!”  The hashtag “insensitive” was also added by her.

A day after the premiere of Akshay’s most recent movie, Selfiee, Ekta made a comment regarding him. Diana Penty, Nushratt Bharuccha, and Emraan Hashmi also appear in the Raj Mehta-directed movie.

The data from cinema chains on Saturday were revealed on Twitter by film industry analyst Taran Adarsh.

A day after Selfiee, a movie co-produced by director Karan Johar, was criticised by actor Kangana Ranaut, Ekta published her message. Kangana responded to a Selfiee box office report that likened her to Akshay.

Kangana had said,  “Karan Johar movie Selfie has hardly made 10 lakhs on the first day I don’t see even one trade or media person talk about it forget mocking or bullying him the way they harass me…” when comparing the opening day gross of her most recent movie Dhaakad (2022) to Selfiee.

Also, she wrote about reposting an article with the headline, ” “Male version of Kangana Ranaut! Netizens react as Akshay’s Selfiee fails to impress viewers, may be his 6th flop film in a row.” The actor added, “I was looking for news about selfie flop I found all the news is about me…yeh bhi meri hi galti hai (this is also my fault),” “Wah bhai Karan johar wah (Congrats).” she said.

The 2019 Malayalam film Driving License, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu, has an official Hindi version titled Selfiee.

Akshay and Emraan Hashmi each play a famous person and a police officer. Selfiee has the support of Magic Frames, Prithviraj Productions, Cape of Good Films, Star Studios, and Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.
