Akshay Kumar to play an Indian Air Force Officer in Sky Force

• The actor will finish filming for this Ali Abbas Zafar-directed movie.
• Akshay will start production on a new movie in May.
• Akshay Kumar is teaming up with Dinesh Vijan for the first time.

Akshay Kumar, the Khiladi of the Hindi film industry, is currently touring the US for his live performance, The Entertainers. Immediately after, he would fly dash to Europe to start working on Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s worldwide itinerary. The actor will finish filming for this Ali Abbas Zafar-directed movie alongside Tiger Shroff by the end of April. Akshay will start production on a new movie in May.

“Akshay Kumar is teaming up with Dinesh Vijan for the first time on an aerial action drama titled Sky Force. The actor plays the role of Indian Air Force Officer and the film celebrates one of the biggest victories of Indian Air Force. The story is based on true events and the team is looking to start working on Sky Force from May 2023,” according to a source familiar with the project. The fiction is based on actual events.

Sources claim that in addition to introducing a new face to the Hindi film industry, Sky Force will also be in full gear during pre-production. “It has Akshay Kumar as an Indian Air Force Officer and he will be joined by a new comer playing his junior. The film has an interesting track of mentor and protegee, side by side all the action and drama,” the source continued.

Sky Force will mark Akshay’s first appearance as an air force officer, and the movie is a tribute to the IAF.  “There’s lot of research that has gone into the script and the team wants to celebrate the Indian Air Force with ample of responsibility. Even the action sequences in the film will be heroic but rooted in realism,” the person said.

The second Akshay Kumar movie, titled Sky Force, is now under production with a 2024 release date. The first quarter of 2019 could see the release of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which was directed by Ali Abbas Zafar.
