Mamata Banerjee wishes Swara Bhasker on her wedding

The Samajwadi Party’s Fahad Ahmad and actress Swara Bhasker recently got married in Delhi. In addition, a wedding celebration was hosted there. Many political figures and leaders attended it, but Mamata Banerjee chose to skip it. The West Bengal chief minister’s touching message to Swara over her marriage was posted on Twitter by the star.

Mamata wrote to Swara Bhasker‘s parents, “Dear Mrs and Mr Bhaskar I am so happy to receive your invitation on the occasion of the wedding reception of your daughter Swara with Fahad, the son of Kaisar Jahan and Janab Zirar Ahmad. My heartiest greetings and best wishes to Swara and Fahad on this momentous occasion. I pray to the almighty to bless them with a very happy and prosperous married life. I also wish all of you all the very best on this joyous occasion.”

Swara shared the letter on social media and commented,“Thank you @MamataOfficial ma’am for your kind wishes, and gracious response to our invitation. We missed your presence at our reception but deeply appreciate this gracious gesture.”

Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal, leaders of the Congress, attended the wedding reception of Swara and Fahad. Together with legendary performer Jaya Bachchan of the Samajwadi Party, TMC politician Derek O’Brien, Congress leader Shashi Tharoor, and others were present.

Swara and Fahad chose a judicial marriage after being engaged in January of this year. After that, there was a formal announcement of the engagement and a private lunch celebration in Mumbai. The actor announced her engagement on Twitter first, along with images of her and Fahad signing the marriage licence.

She penned, “Three cheers for the #SpecialMarriageAct (despite notice period etc.) At least it exists & gives love a chance… The right to love, the right to choose your life partner, the right to marry, the right to agency these should not be a privilege. @FahadZirarAhmad.” Also, they hosted pre-wedding celebrations in Delhi that included haldi, mehendi, and a musical night attended by their loved ones and close friends.
