‘Titanic’ is returning to theatres in an upgraded form to commemorate its 25th anniversary

According to Deadline, James Cameron’s comeback to oversee the blockbuster film will honor the 25th anniversary of its original release after three decades.

The restored version of the 1997 romantic drama will be released in 3D 4K HDR and at a high frame rate.

Cameron’s producing partner and Lightstorm Entertainment COO, Jon Landau, made the announcement during Disney’s CineEurope event in Barcelona.

During the event on Wednesday, Landau even gave a little preview of the 3D adaptation of one of Hollywood’s highest-grossing pictures.

The film received 14 Academy Award nominations and won 11 in 1998, with key characters played by Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, Frances Fisher, and Gloria Stuart.
