On the 2nd of June special episode of The Wendy Williams Show, which was co-hosted by Vivica A. Fox with Carson Kressley, the Keeping Up With the Joneses actress got frank when discussing Jada Pinkett Smith’s reaction to her husband, Will Smith, slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars.

“It’s going to be difficult for me,” Vivica confessed before weeping. “These are my peers.”

Vivica has worked with both actors, including Will Smith in Independence Day and Jada Pinkett Smith in Setting Off Now. Jada’s statement on Red Table Talk did not sit well together with her, despite her admiration for the Smith family.

“I just wish we could have had a little bit more accountability and it didn’t seem so self-righteous on Jada’s behalf,” she stated.

“My deepest desire is that these two bright capable men have an opportunity to heal, hash things out, and reconcile,” Jada stated in a Red Table Talk episode geared to informing “people what alopecia actually is.”

“Given the status of the world today, we need them both—and we all need each other more than ever,” she continued. “Until then, Will and I will keep doing what we’ve been doing for the past 28 years: figuring out this thing we call life together.”

“I genuinely felt to be a partner to Will Smith, whose career virtually crumbled that night, we were all pulling for Will Smith,” Vivica said through tears after watching the June 1st episode of Red Table Talk.

People in the audience at the Oscars in March, as well as viewers at home, witnessed a once-in-a-lifetime event. Will made his way to the stage and slapped Chris in the face, resulting in a 10-year ban from all Academy events. Chris was on stage to present an award when he made a joke about Jada’s shaved head—the actress has opened up about struggling with alopecia—which prompted Will to make his way to the stage and slap Chris in the face, resulting in a 10-year ban from all Academy events.

Vivica said, “Will Smith was defending her honour.” “It was because he felt his wife had been offended that he stepped on stage and smacked.”

Vivica claimed that Jada’s statement lacked accountability because it did not reflect the entire picture and consequences of the confrontation.
