  • King jumped in, saying, “It had a life of its own.”
  • Yes, it does! Exasperated, Alley concurred. It was a standalone show.

The Look Who’s Talking actress was then asked by King whose idea it was for her to walk down a runway wearing only a bikini.

Obviously not Oprah’s idea—she doesn’t come up with foolish ideas! Added Alley.

Simply taking a frame shot is all that is required. Alley spoke while shaking her head in astonishment. I had no idea that video would receive millions of hits on YouTube and be shared around.

“It was my concept. I simply reasoned that if I could motivate myself to arrive here wearing a bikini, it would be proof of my liberation. Then I thought, “Oh my gosh!” I must now deal with this for the rest of my life “She spoke. I have made mistakes in my life.

Alley did not hesitate to discuss her struggle with weight in public.

Alley claimed she first lost weight on Jenny Craig, which she used from 2004 to 2007, but that she finally put it back on during a 2013 interview on The Wendy Williams Show. She said to the host Wendy Williams at the time, “I just went south,” adding that she was again down, this time by 50 pounds.

She claimed on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 2004 that the idea to start reducing weight came after her weight was covered in the media. Sincerely, she admitted, she was unaware of her weight.

She signed up to be a spokesperson for Jenny Craig in 2004 and lost 75 pounds while on the programme.

She started the television series Fat Actress a year later. She wrote the book How To Lose Your Ass and Regain Your Life: Reluctant Confessions of a Big-Butted Star that same year and used her weight as a source of comic inspiration.

When the chance to compete on Dancing with the Stars arose, “Everyone, including my manager, agent, and friends, advised against doing it. They all believed that I should just act since I am a successful actress, but I was thoroughly bored,” admitted Alley. She also sought advise from Jennifer Grey and Marlee Matlin, former contestants on the show, who described the experience as “excruciating” and “a killer.”” Alley’s reaction? I need something lethal, so good.

She joined the programme, finally shed 100 pounds, and then introduced her own weight-loss programme.

She told that she had overcome the 100-pound weight loss obstacle. She recalled thinking, “That’s it,” when she reached her goal. I feel more energised than I ever have in my entire life.

In 2014, as her weight started to rise once more, she went back to Jenny Craig. She told, “I need to get myself to where I feel cocky again,” reiterating that she was concentrating on both her physical and mental health.

In an interview she gave to Woman’s Health in April 2014, she went into great depth about her weight-loss journey.

“If someone attacks me because I’m overweight, I go on to a better place in the cosmos where I can thrive. I’m the expert at making lemonade out of them “She spoke.
