Jodie Turner-Smith, 36, stated in an interview with Bustle on December 8 that she was secretly married and expecting a child when she first entered the scene. I believe a lot of it was because I was married to a white person, and that was a story for folks. And I was married to a white man who has been well-known for a long time and is a popular topic of conversation in tabloids.”

Jodie Turner-Smith continued, “I mean, it was like literally the most vulnerable period,” as she recalled the beginnings of her relationship with Joshua, 44, in 2018.

Jodie acknowledged the normal fascination in popular personalities, but she also noted that there is an uncomfortable element to it. She just moved to Topanga, California, with the Fringe actress and their 2-year-old daughter Janie.

The reality is that there is an underbelly that it’s really difficult to deal with, she continued, “but I don’t want to sit here and be like a superstar who’s screaming about the very ecology that keeps me wealthy.”

She has a better knowledge of how to shield herself—and her family—from the bad effects of celebrity now that she has been in Hollywood for a few years.

“Jodie said, “I think when you make art that people love and characters that people adore, then it belongs to everyone.” I think the key is that I embrace the thorns that come with the rose. I accept them for myself. I don’t accept them for my kid. “And so people sort of interpret that as you belong to everybody, and in a way, part of you kind of does, but you’re still a human. You don’t belong to anybody else.”

Regarding being a working mother, Jodie compliments her husband for forging a relationship that enables her to strike a balance between advancing in her job and being present for their little daughter.

According to the White Noise actress, “women have historically been made to pick between being wonderful mothers and great at their careers.” Josh has consistently made an effort to ensure that I get all the assistance I need to achieve both.
