Joe Giudice, 50, said to the hosts, “I mean, these folks did the same, identical thing we did, that I did — not Teresa, me. “Probably 90 percent of the world does it, and the United States did it at the time, but they targeted us, and now these guys here did the same exact thing, same exact charges,” the speaker said.

After pleading guilty to mail, wire, and bankruptcy fraud in October 2014, Joe received a 41-month jail term. Additionally found guilty on fraud-related crimes, Teresa, 50, received a 15-month prison term.

In the meantime, Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, were found guilty in June 2022 of conspiring to conduct tax fraud, bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Also convicted guilty of wire fraud was Julie. Todd was given a 12-year jail sentence and 16 months of probation at their November sentencing, while Julie received a 7-year sentence and 16 months of probation.

The pair has maintained its denial of the allegations and intends to challenge the verdict.

On the show, Joe discussed the Chrisleys’ trial and its conclusion “They would have most likely received a warning, served time in prison, and possibly the wife would have served Teresa’s same sentence, if not longer. And since he could have completed the drug treatment programme, is a citizen, and other factors, he would have received the same sentence that I did and would have been released in 16 to 17 months.”

“But, given that he appeared in court. Sure, they crucified him.” Joe carried on. They provide you with double time.

Joe said that he and Teresa had both accepted plea agreements, and that was why there was such a large discrepancy in the cases and the penalties’ different lengths.

“I figure they probably offered him a plea bargain for anything like 48 months or something. Something similar to what I have, okay? You receive 36 months out of that, assuming good behaviour and other factors, and you receive even less time if you enrol in drug and alcohol treatment programmes “He clarified.

After the punishment, a source exclusively revealed to PEOPLE earlier this month that the Chrisleys “have really been leaning into their faith to bring them through.”

“Having said that, what happened to them was terrible; they were treated horribly in court. The source noted that the pair believed the federal judge “was making an example of them. They feel they were unfairly singled out by the judge because he repeatedly told them, “Just because you’re on TV, doesn’t mean you’re going to get away with this,””

The insider continued, “They intend to appeal so that they can rectify this mistake.”

The couple is still “optimistic” about the future, and they intend to appeal, according to Alex Little, the couple’s lawyer at Burr & Forman LLP.

According to Little on November 22, “Todd and Julie are persons of religion, and their faith provides them strength while they appeal their convictions.” “Serious and persistent mistakes were made during their trial, including the government misleading the jury regarding the couple’s tax obligations. We have hope for the future based on these problems.”
