He utilised the name as a trademark for a lot of his music because their names have a similar pronunciation.

Added him: “Then I simply started saying that in performances, and when I ran across Chanderpaul years later, he was all, “Yo!” However, congratulations to Shivnarine Chanderpaul.”

He made a sarcastic Twitter tweet about the revelation following the release of the documentary that detailed the creation of his 2003 smash song “Get Busy,” writing: “If u didnt kno now ya kno: big up #Chanderpaul.”

Since his ascent to prominence in Jamaica more than 20 years ago, his name has been mentioned throughout Paul’s music. He noted that he still resides there because of his deep attachment to the nation.

Many people have asked me why I still reside in this area, he remarked. “These folks moulded me. They helped shape who I am today.”

Alongside fellow Jamaican musician Ziggy Marley, he proudly displayed his roots during this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Paul made his debut appearance in the event, while Marley made his second.

He was the first dancehall performer to show up at the occasion.
