Fans are probably wondering when Star Wars will return to their televisions after the first season of Andor has ended. The first Disney+ Star Wars series, The Mandalorian, will be the following live-action project to be released, even if the animated series The Bad Batch, which debuts on Disney+ on January 4, is technically the following. At Brazil’s Comic-Con Experience, series producers Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni and series star Pedro Pascal made the official announcement that The Mandalorian Season 3 will debut on March 1, 2023. Up until this point, all fans had to go on was the hazy promise that the series would release in 2023.

Since Lucasfilm debuted The Mandalorian Season 3’s first teaser at Star Wars Celebration in the spring, excitement for the flagship Disney+ series has been at an all-time high. After the events of The Book of Boba Fett, which saw Grogu reject the ways of the Jedi and come back to Mando’s side, the teaser saw the titular Mando Din Djarin (Pascal/Brendan Wayne) reuniting with his adoptive son Grogu.

Now that they are traveling together once more, the Clan of Two appears headed for Mandalore. There, they meet up with an old ally named Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff), who has her sights set on recovering the legendary Darksaber that Din currently possesses and which, in accordance with Mandalorian legend, confers the right to rule over all of Mandalore upon whoever wields it.

Din will also be on a personal mission this season because, in his previous interaction with The Armorer (Emily Swallow), he was accused of being an apostate and told that he was no longer a Mandalorian for the sin of taking off his helmet. He was informed that the only place to atone was in the living waters under Mandalore’s mines. Din notes that these were destroyed, but his return to the shattered planet suggests that he hasn’t given up hope just yet.

Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Carson Teva, Omid Abtahi as Clone Engineer Dr. Pershing, and Amy Sedaris as Tatooine mechanic Peli Motto will all return for Season 3 along with Pascal, Wayne, Sackhoff, and Swallow. It’s worth wondering if Season 3 will include a cameo visit by Mos Espa’s resident crime leaders with good hearts, Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand, because it appears that Din is returning to Tatooine to meet Peli (Ming-Na Wen). They can call Din in a pinch because they are close enough to him. If he stops by for a glass of spotchka while he’s in town, it would only be polite.

On March 1, 2023, The Mandalorian Season 3 will premiere on Disney+. The trailer is provided below:
