Christina Hall is responding to internet criticism from a fresh angle. The Christina on the Coast star, 39, opened up on coping with internet trolls and the reasons why they don’t bother her as much as they once did in an exclusive interview with news.

“I allow myself a little time to be upset,” she revealed to the news, “and usually the things that upset me are when people make direct statements about things they have no idea about. Sometimes that’ll really irritate me and then I’ll talk to [my husband] Josh about it.”

Christina has drawn criticism for her parenting and for posting pictures of her children on social media, particularly for her youngest son Hudson, who is 3 years old.

In the past, the pair has made a point of “shutting out negativity” while they are together, and Josh isn’t afraid to stand up for his wife when detractors attack her in Instagram comments.

Continues the Flip or Flop alum: “The problem is that everyone already has an idea in their brain. They could blatantly reject the truth even after you have demonstrated it to them.”

She claims that after giving herself permission to feel sad for a brief period of time, she eventually gets over it and realizes that “I have a great life and I can’t be focused on pleasing everyone.”

She claims that growing older also gave her the ability to block out bullies. “I believe that as I get older, I care less. I’ll turn 40 in a few months, and from what I’ve heard, your forties are when you feel the most secure and at ease with yourself.

The home improvement specialist is anticipating her forthcoming projects for the next chapter of her life rather than dwelling on the criticisms.

“I really want to start my own home line — like a Christina collection-type thing,” she tells the news. “So that’s something we’re working on right now, getting that in a big box store. Hopefully, that comes to fruition next year.”

She adds that she’s looking to start “an online seminar course on manifesting, creating wealth in your dream life. I think that could be pretty cool.”

Along with beginning her forthcoming projects, Christina is eagerly anticipating the Jan. 12 premiere of Christina in the Country, a spin-off of her California-based home improvement program Christina on the Coast. The flips she and Josh have been developing in Tennessee while they expanded her design firm down South will make their premiere in the new limited series.

The pair have established roots in the community as well. Early in 2021, Christina bought a farmhouse in Franklin, Tennessee, where she now lives with her children, son Hudson, 3, and daughters Taylor, 12, and Brayden, 7, whom she shares with her first husband Tarek El Moussa and second husband Ant Anstead.

The designer, who divides her time between Tennessee and California, says she has fallen in love with the country life and plans to retire there with Josh. She has enough space to raise all her hens (and soon miniature donkeys and goats).

According to Christina, it’s the best. “We will surely retire there. I would love to live there permanently and then have a sweet little beach property in California, in La Jolla, that we hop back to. This is the exact opposite of what I now do.”

HGTV will debut Christina in the Country on Thursday.
