Richard Gere and Alejandra Silva attend a premiere night of “Maybe I Do”

The ensemble of the upcoming romantic comedy Maybe I Do get caught up in a family secret in a brand-new clip published by Vertical Entertainment, just over a week before the movie’s scheduled to premiere. In an effort to move their relationship forward, Michelle (Emma Roberts) and Allen (Luke Bracey) are shown in the footage introducing their parents to one another.
The invitation takes an unexpected turn when it is revealed that the parents, played by Diane Keaton, Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and William H. Macy, already know one another from prior relationships as the two families attempt to meet. The two sets of parents must, in a humorous fashion, keep the information from the other spouses while ensuring that both families have a peaceful and uneventful night.
As both sets of parents try to keep their secret from one another and the young couple, the clip successfully teases the tension that will be woven throughout the movie. It also provides a little taste of the cast’s comedic timing. Will everything go as planned for the dinner, and will Michelle and Allen further their romance? Only time will tell, but since the movie is scheduled to hit theatres later this month, moviegoers won’t have to wait too long to enjoy some romance and humor.
The movie, which is directed by Michael Jacobs and whose screenplay he also wrote, brings Roberts and Bracey back together after they previously appeared in Holidate, another romantic comedy that was released on Netflix in 2020. Jacobs, along with Scott Mednick and Vincent Newman, produces the movie in addition to writing and directing it. Maybe I Do may be the ideal film for moviegoers as Valentine’s Day draws near with a strong ensemble at the center of an intriguing plot and a growing comeback in interest in romantic comedies in recent years.
