Emma Roberts reveals her “Favorite” Rom-Com of Aunt Julia Roberts’

Emma Roberts likes to watch her favorite rom-com with her family. The host of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen, invited actor Julia Roberts, 31, and another guest, Julie Bowen, for a guessing game in which the names of well-known romantic films gradually emerged on the screen.

Roberts and Bowen, 52, played their way through Never Been Kissed, Sleepless in Seattle, and The Wedding Planner before arriving at 1997’s My Best Friend’s Wedding, which features Julia Roberts, Emma’s aunt.

Emma informed Bowen that the movie is “her favorite” after she recognized the title. During the discussion, she also mentioned one of her favorite romantic comedies, 1999’s Never Been Kissed.

P.J. Hogan’s film, My Best Friend’s Wedding, centers on Julia Roberts’ character as she learns she loves her friend Michael (Dermot Mulroney). She fakes an engagement to her buddy George (Rupert Everett) when Michael calls to tell her there has been an engagement. Kimmy, Michael’s fiancée, is played by Cameron Diaz in the film.

In April 2022, Julia, 55, discussed the legacy of the romantic comedy My Best Friend’s Wedding with Daily Pop in advance of the movie’s 25th anniversary (it was released on June 20, 1997)

“So many people have someone that they can see themselves as in the movie, and I also just think that we really got lucky coming together,” she told the news.

According to Julia, a major factor in the movie’s long-lasting success was its impressive cast.

“None of us knew each other before we made the movie, and we just had a really great chemistry,” she told the news “It just worked. I mean, we all really liked each other.”

Roberts said to the site that she still keeps in touch with a lot of her previous co-stars. She told reporters, “Dermot and I are still really great friends; we talk all the time. “And I believe that speaks volumes about the wonderful experience we all shared creating this movie together.”

Emma is currently starring in the brand-new romantic comedy Maybe I Do alongside Richard Gere, who has appeared in two other romantic comedies, Diane Keaton, William H. Macy, and Luke Bracey. The movie centers on two married couples who are having affairs before they learn that their children (Emma and Bracey) are thinking about getting married.
